Privacy policy

This page is short because there is little to disclose: foodpyramid.app is a static website with no accounts, no database and no analytics.

Who operates this site

What we collect: nothing

foodpyramid.app does not ask for, receive or store any personal data. There is no sign-up, no cookie, no tracking pixel, no third-party analytics and no advertising identifier. There is no form that submits anywhere. Anything you type into the tools (a body weight in Pyramid Check, an answer in the quiz) is processed by JavaScript in your own browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

What stays on your device

The quiz saves your best score, and Pyramid Check keeps your last inputs, in your browser’s localStorage. That data lives only on your device, is not visible to us, and is deleted when you clear your browser’s site data. Share links (“copy score link”, “copy shareable link”) encode your selections in the part of the URL after the #, which browsers do not send to servers; the link travels only through whatever channel you choose. We never see it.

No consent banner, on purpose

EU and UK ePrivacy rules require consent to store or read information on your device, such as cookies and similar technologies. We set no cookies and use no analytics or advertising storage, so there is nothing to consent to. The small amounts of data the quiz and tools keep in your browser are stored as a strictly necessary part of the feature you chose to use, which is exempt from the consent requirement, and none of it reaches us.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages). Like virtually every website, the provider’s servers may keep standard technical access logs (IP address, requested file, timestamp) to deliver pages and maintain security. That is infrastructure, not analytics; we add nothing on top of it, and no log can be joined to anything you type, because that never reaches a server. Legal basis for that processing: our legitimate interest in running and securing the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). If we ever add measurement, it will be cookieless, aggregate-only analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics), and this policy will be updated first.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, correction and erasure. Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is normally nothing to access or erase, but you can always write to the address below and we will respond within a month.

Affiliate disclosure

There are no affiliate or partner links on this site today. If any are ever added, free options will be listed first, the link will use a plain tagged URL, it will sit under a visible “partner link” label, no partner will pay for placement or ranking, and this page will be updated the same day.

External links

Pages link to sources such as government and university websites, which open on their own domains under their own privacy policies. We attach no tracking parameters to outbound links and load no third-party script on our pages. This policy covers foodpyramid.app only.
